Digital Work Published
It's been quite awhile since I submitted and had published, any of my artwork to the Somerset publications, but I was very excited when Jana e-mailed me that one of my digital designs had been chosen for this new release of Digital Studio. See page 117 for a full page tutorial on how to work with a fun layout using an invisible type effect in your PSElements software.

This first t-shirt with the word Salon on it, was a panel of samari who were both in love with the same woman which was the story told using the letter beads around the neckline. Again I used some hand-dyed shibori silk over stamped with asian lettering as the circle background and lettering for "Asian Art".
This t-shirt was one of several that I had made using Asian images. This particular image reminded me of the Mona Lisa and therefore got the title of "Alter Ego". The shibori silk was hand dyed and I had only a few scraps left, so I made the lettering & corner squares to use up the leftovers. Now that it is summer again, I really should find the time to make some more of this shibori technique.

Halloween Board Book
Surprise in the Mail today!
It's always nice to receive surprises and today I got a very special one. I had no idea that my Halloween board book had been selected to be in this magazine, a first for me. I've never had a project published in the Gallery before! Usually my paper projects don't make the cut, LOL! Scroll down to see what project was chosen...Wednesday, January 23, 2008

New Magazine Article

I have another article published in the next issue of Belle Armoire, due out in just a few more days. This jacket was really fun to create from a recycled sweatshirt, hand-beaded binding, and a few small flourishes for detail. Next time you are at JoAnn's or Barnes n Noble, pick up a copy, it's loaded with some awesome altered clothing and fresh ideas for some fun jewelry!Thursday, August 16, 2007

Published ATC

I recently had an ATC published in the Canadian magazine called: http://atcquarterly.com , along with several other artists I recognized. Belinda's ATC is the third one from the left, in the top row. Lisa Vollrath (of twotenstudios) has her shrine ATC in the middle of the bottom row, and my ATC is the 4th from the left, second row. Congratulations to all the artists who made the cut! Obviously this was a tribute to Frida Kahlo, an artist from Mexico who lead a very troubled, painful existance. If you want to know more about Frida, google her name!

Belle Armoire-Nov/Dec '06
This was my first published issue featuring my altered sweatshirt jackets. The red jacket was created using purchased fabric, and a decorative stitch on my embroidery machine. The second jacket, features hand-dyed fabrics from my stash. These simple jackets were great fun, and using a theme enabled me to tie everything together. The bottom jacket also has a hand-painted back panel of "Old Man Winter" (same as the quilt posted in the Jan archives) Michelle Flores did a marvelous job writing the article for this issue.
