It hasn't been this clean since I moved into it 3 years ago. I keep adding garage sale furniture and cabinet finds and I'm running out of floor space! It's truely organized chaos but I think I know where everything is. LOL! There's more but I haven't started tackling the other parts yet. I have the full basement of my house, since DH and I are empty nesters, we weren't using this space for anything, so I've claimed it as mine. Marked my territory and moved in!
This one half is more space than I have in my entire studio. I just love getting to see other artists spaces. I don't know why though LOL

Christy-I feel very privileged to have as much space as I do, it's larger than some apartments I've lived in, but I started with just a desk and a corner of one small room. Being in a basement has it's disadvantages too, like inadequate lighting. I still work at the diningroom table most of the time. :-D

Connie-It's an inviting space to work and I love having everything I need to be creative all in one open area. I have to get into the habit of putting things away after every finished project, so it will stay this way. Wishful thinking! LOL!

ReplyDeleteI just started tackling the other side of this huge room. It's not only more cluttered than the other half before it got cleaned up, it's also dustier! Finding some wonderful, forgotten treasures and the ideas are flying like crazy! I keep wanting to stop cleaning so I can play. :-D

ReplyDeleteSandy-One of my favorite storage solutions is using vintage picnic hampers! The kind with the wooden lids on hinges. What a wonderful surface to alter and the baskets hold yarns, ribbons, fabrics, snippets of this and that. I also love using those vintage dressers that have those wonderfully deep drawers. I have 4 of these in various rooms of the house, all different but all used for storage. They are works of art from another era of time.

ReplyDeleteIt didn't stay clean for very long! I made a mess during the embossed metal workshop and have yet to put everything away. Plus I was making tag ornaments for the Christmas gifts. It's a never ending battle, but so much fun!
ReplyDeletelove the studio pictures. The cart next to your work table brought back memories. My grandmother used carts like that in almost every room of her house to hole or move something. It was a nice memory.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth-I'm sure that is the reason I bought this metal cart! My Grandmother also used these, in her kitchen to hold some of her pots n' pans. She lived in a small bungalow and didn't have many kitchen cabinets.

Jennifer-The paint rack you have admired was custom made for me about 15 years ago. It holds close to 100 bottles. I use to be a vendor in Redlands,CA every month for their Street Fair and the vendor next to me was a wood craftsman. He made the swivel paint stand as well as a beautiful manger for a ceramic navity set.
