Fall colors are every where this time of year, in the trees, on the ground, just every where. We had a good strong wind the other day and it sent leaves swirling all over the place, including at my feet. The reds, oranges, yellows were incredible because they were fresh leaves. I promptly gathered up as many as I could hold and took them in the house. I placed them all in a plastic bag and immediately they went into the freezer. Why the freezer? I wanted to preserve these beautiful colors for a fun workshop that Sharon was teaching on the Latest Trends group. While I missed the workshop yesterday, I was still prepared. I had my leaves, my beeswax, my melting pot, iron and parchment papers handy. Now I just need to wire these beauties so they can be inserted into a fall wreath to hang on the front door in time for Thanksgiving.
Gorgeous leaves....I would have thought the freezer would "brown" them! I need to try this!

Pat-If you leave them in the freezer too long, they will of course change, but if only for a day or a few days, then the leaves will retain their colors. There was lots of spattering when I ironed the wax, since there was water on the leaves & hot wax, don't mix but iron them between two sheets of paper and you won't be burned with flying hot wax. :-D
